As the demand for accuracy of modelling processes occurring in life and social systems increase, so is the need for development of computational techniques to investigate them. This special issue is concerned with all quantitative analysis occuring in biology, ecology and epidemiology. We aim to provide a platform for the discussion of the major research challenges and achievements on these systems. Theoretical as well as numerical results are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

1.  Disease dynamics (HIV-AIDS, Tuberculosis, malaria, Infuenza, cancer)

2.  Computational biology

3.  Applications in Ecology

4. Applications in real-world problems
